HOW TO BECOME AN NIA OFFICER

How to become a National Investigation Agency Officer

NIA recruits candidates through direct recruitment, deputation, promotion by seniority level.
You can become an NIA officer by clearing the SSC exam conducted by the Staff Selection Commission every year.
All direct recruitment of Group C post for Sub-Inspectors,Constables, Lower Division Clerk, Stenographers and Multitasking Staffs are made through Staff Selection Commission (SSC).

Sub-Inspectors are recruited through SSC Combined Graduate Level Examination (CGLE),
followed by Physical Endurance Test (PET) and Medical Test.

Educational Qualification: A degree from a recognised university or equivalent.

Payscale: 9300-34800 with Grade Pay of 4200

Age limit: 21-27 years

You could reach upto the rank of Senior Superintendent of Police (Ssp) which is a very powerful post if you join at a young age (21-25 years).

Constables are recruited through SSC Constable GD Examination,
followed by Physical Endurance Test (PET) and Medical Test.

Educational Qualification: 10th pass or equivalent from a recognised university.

Payscale: 5200-20200 with Grade Pay of 2000

Age limit: 18-25 years

You could reach upto the rank of Sub-Inspector, though it is not an Investigating Officer (IO) post, it is still powerful.

Lower Division Clerks and Stenographers are recruited through SSC Combined Higher Secondary Level (CHSL).

Educational Qualification: 12th pass or equivalent from a recognised university.

Payscale: 5200-20200 with Grade Pay of 1900

Age limit: 18-25 years

There is no Physical Endurance Test (PET) and Medical Test.

Age limit: 18- 25 years
